Truth Hits Everybody
INT. - DAY - BEDROOM
It's morning; bright May sunshine streams through an open window and falls on the bed, illuminating CARL, NORA, VAL and GUS. VAL is changing NORA's diaper and putting a new outfit on her; CARL is bouncing up and down, bristling with morning energy and vigor. GUS is straightening his tie, ready for work. VAL: Look, Daddy, isn't she pretty? GUS: Oh, yes. What a cute outfit! VAL: And look -- isn't Carl handsome? GUS: I love that John Deere sweatshirt. VAL: Carl, what do you think? Is your sister pretty today? CARL: Yeah, she's pretty! VAL: And what about Daddy? CARL: Hmmm. Not too stylish. GUS: ... (laughter) END
